A day of coincidences!
The day started with me perusing FB for recommendations: I had asked on there last night for ‘Best Saucepan’ recommendations due to the fact that somehow I appear to have lost (along with several other household items) my best pans, so am left with ‘odd’ and ‘badly sized’ pans.
Now, I know during the 5 years the OH and I spent ‘travelling and living-it-up’ (in our caravan and boat!?!), all our possessions were stored in an excellent and secure facility – yet somehow, some things definitely disappeared. I guess they must be in a box in the garage, yet can we find them? Nooooo.
So, seeing several ‘good cooks’ had recommended a brand called ‘Stellar’ I placed an order for a set of three saucepans, one milk pan and a frying pan – all with ‘draining lids’, which I guess negate the need for a colander??
Still scrolling through my FB feed I then noticed that the sparkly jewellery company ‘Stella and Dot’ are closing down their European Operation: a sad day for their self-employed stylists and for their employed staff. I know the feeling when you are suddenly and unexpectedly ‘redundant’.
My heart goes out to these people and I hope they find new opportunities that put the sparkle back into their lives very soon.
Note: I have worked in and alongside companies like Stella and Dot (social/direct selling businesses) for many years, so I really can empathise…but I also know when one door closes another one opens (that is what happened to me 6 years back and boy what an amazing 6 years I have had).
In addition to having ‘Stellar/Stella’ cropping up today I have enjoyed a ‘putting people in touch day’.
The founder of a super company (Magnetix Wellness) asked me if I knew a certain influential business woman. I did, so after contacting her for her permission, I was able to put the two of them in touch. I think they can help each other – I love to help people to help others. (Does that make sense?)
Early this evening an old Uni friend (R) asked me if I could help a contact of hers who is writing a book. I contacted the friend (N) and have (I hope) been able to give her lots of advice and tips on self-publishing. The coincidence here is (N) is writing a book about a dog but had no idea I have written several books from the POV of my dog – Martha – one of (N’s) messages to me reads, ‘So pleased I was put in touch with you’. How lovely?
As I wrote at the beginning of this blog – and have voiced many, many times – life is full of coincidences…and I love them!
Perhaps, It’s A Girl Thing?
P.S. In between blogging and posting I searched ‘magnetic knife rack’ and guess what came up? ‘Stellar’ via Lakeland’s website!!
