Day 21 – Curfew – Monday 13 April 2020.
I learned how to make a coffee using my phone today! For someone oh-so-not-technical this is amazing.
Let me take you back to last September time. I had an email asking if I would like to test ‘products’. I replied with a ‘Yes please’ – having no idea what the products would be, but, hey, I’m game for anything new. A few weeks later I received an email asking if I would like to test a De-Longhi coffee machine (as long as I fitted the criteria they needed). I filled in my details and received a reply saying to expect delivery within a few days.
When a package turned up my (doubting Thomas) husband, Tom, said, ‘Here’s your ‘test’ – it’s just a packet of coffee beans’. I resisted the temptation to bite and said, ‘We’ll see’.
A couple of days later the all-singing-all-dancing (in fact it can probably waltz, polka, foxtrot and cha-cha) DeLonghi Dinamica Plus machine arrived. It felt good to be right!
Having used the machine daily, I fed back to De Longhi (it is an amazing machine) and agreed that potential customers can contact me if they want to. We are both really impressed with the machine.
But we haven’t really used it to it’s full potential so Tom set up a little training session with De-Longhi for today.
I now know how to make cappuccinos and lattes and, on the advice of the trainer, have installed an app on my phone so that I can make a coffee without even touching the machine!
I will be able to set up different recipes for different people so that everyone gets their perfect coffee! One shot or two, more or less milk – I may even become a barista eventually (joke).
My curiosity was peaked when the demonstrator (a very personable and pleasant man) mentioned ‘Espresso Martini’s’. That will be another training I guess. Curfew? What Curfew? Having time to investigate my coffee machine is a definite benefit!
This afternoon consisted of re-potting my sweet peas (apparently my little pots didn’t give enough depth for the roots which is why they looked a little sad), going for a 5k run and looking through my Pilates bible as I’m planning to record a new class tomorrow.
I can hardly believe it is already 8.30pm. Time flies when you’re having fun, and fun is Just a Girl Thing!
Hugs
Leigh
PS my intention was to write a daily entry for the 21 days of the curfew…hmm, guess I’ll carry on as the end is not nigh!
