Day 10 – Curfew – Thursday 2 April 2020
Having incurred some sort of injury to my thumb – it clicks every time I extend it (any clues, please let me know) – and having cut my index finger on the same hand, I am struggling to type.
Worse still, I have to finish some hand-written coursework and my handwriting is now totally illegible; those that know my writing will agree it’s always been pretty bad (read ‘almost illegible’) but now it is even worse. Hence, today’s journal entry will be super-short.
I cut my finger while sorting out the kitchen utensil draws. A v-shaped cutter – used about twice in many years – was the culprit.
On the plus side I have sorted lots of utensils that I really don’t need. Many are duplicates from my days spent working for a kitchen product company – ‘The Pampered Chef’.
This afternoon I went for a longish run around the lanes. It’s bizarre as when driving those lanes I am sure they are pretty flat. Today, someone had somehow raised the road-surface-levels here and there, to make them super-hilly. How that happens I have no idea.
Luckily, before encountering the devil-of-a-hill called Weavers Hill, I spotted a couple I know from when my children were at senior school, so managed to stop and have a breather whilst talking to them.
A few minutes into the conversation a guy I know from one of my running clubs ‘S’ whizzed past us. ‘L’ (the female of the couple) said, ‘I’m so sorry Leigh, we’re stopping you from running’. I quickly explained that I was more than glad of the break and very, very happy to chat for a few more minutes.
I love seeing acquaintances that I haven’t seen for many years, it’s so lovely to simply have the time to catch up.
So…running hills? Definitely NOT This Girls Thing.
