Day 3 – Curfew Thursday 26 March 2020.
I went for an early run this morning…well not terribly early but an 8-o-clock start! Deciding to run down the main Evesham Road towards Redditch was a good plan as I passed several running buddies – it makes a run much easier when you see other runners: a bizarre fact but true!
I took a few photos on the run – I particularly love the old water tower in the Headless Cross district of Redditch (now a residence).
The views from Mount Pleasant towards Brockhill and Batchley are fabulous, as are the views in the opposite direction towards the new town and Beoley!
As I ran back towards Astwood Bank I passed my son and his partners home, so took five minutes to wave to my grandchildren who were looking out for me from their bedroom windows. I so miss them – there is nothing like a tight hug from a little one.
Once home I had a quick bite of breakfast before changing into some fresh leggings and top for an online Pilates class. I’ve signed up for a month of these as my instructor is leading them; like many self-employed fitness instructors she has a business to run and this is her sole income, so I feel it necessary to support her even though I can do my own Pilates session.
Just before the class began a friend (N) arrived with some little Easter gifts for the younger grandchildren: Isaac, Isla, Sofia, Katie, Florence, Ella and Myles (in age order). Each little character has a cream egg inside – how cute? All the money goes to charity too which is fabulous.
After lunch I spent a couple of hours in the garden cleaning out the summerhouse. An old friend had recently sent me a window cleaning cloth – this may sound odd but she sells environmentally friendly products for a company called Norwex, and she raves about this cloth. Although I don’t usually clean windows (my O.H. does that job) I decided to try the cloth out. The instructions were to wash the (very grimy with algae) windows with water – no soapy suds or product at all – and then to polish them with the Norwex window cloth.
Oh my word. It was so easy, not at all hard work, no scrubbing and super fast AND the windows in the summerhouse have never (in 15 years or so) been so clean. Super happy!
That’s about all for today…I did enjoy a quick video call with several members of the family after dinner and eventually sat down around 9pm to watch two episodes of ‘Safe’ on Netflix. It is terrible. Poor acting, some odd looking actors, hilarious (not meant to be) narrative. Yet it’s so bad it’s good – and I am hooked! Aarrgghh.
Off to grab a G&T – It’s a Girl Thing!
